Silver Stetsons started over eleven years ago when Mel was asked to teach at the sheltered housing complex where her parents lived. Because of the obvious enjoyment of the people who lived there it quickly expanded to encompass other similar units in Bedford, Sandy, Flitwick, Houghton Regis and St.Neots. After a relatively short while Mel was approached by other linedancers and asked to start other classes in and around the Bedford area for dancers of all age groups. Mel built on the popularity of the classes and introduced Linedance Discos and events featuring live acts, the first of which were the Dean Brothers. Every year there are Christmas Parties, BBQ's and various other themed events. We have recently branched out into Newport Pagnell and Olney, incorporating two existing classes from two other clubs that had to close. Always see the whats on page as well as the latest news items for late breaking information. Two years ago we started hosting our
own Linedance weekends. These are held at Hermanus Holiday Village, Winterton
on Sea in a beautiful and picturesque setting. The Dance hall overlooks
the dunes and the sea beyond. The accomodation is in chalets and "Norfolk
roundhouses" and there is a superb restaurant that serves both "Cordon-Bleu"
and budget style meals. For more details, booking form and photographs

At our classes, Discos and Events we actively encourage all ages from 4 to 90 to join in. It doesn't matter what age or level you are at, or whether you just come to sit and watch, the most important thing about Linedancing is that everyone should be able to have fun and enjoy themself. We have a policy at Silver Stetsons that if someone comes to any of the above they are welcomed, introduced to some of the members, asked what dances they can do, and made to feel part of it all. We encourage all levels of dancers, as our aim is to keep the dancefloor full whenever possible. Laughter and fun is a big part of the reason we are so successful ( as well as the themed evenings and BBQs etc). I also believe that without the dancers, we as instructors would cease to exist and this is the reason why on special nights I try to give something back to the people who have supported me throughout the year. All of our instructors are all qualified BWDA Line Dance Instructors. The venues that these instructors teach at are shown on the "Classes" page and details of the instructors can be viewed on the "about us" page.
